Bird News Sunday 11th December

A Great White Egret was in a field at Ardilea, near Dundrum, early afternoon (Chris Henry)

A large flock of 300 Chaffinch and one Brambling were in west Fermanagh this afternoon. (Brad Robson)

A pair of Common Scoter were close in at Kinnegar this morning (Daniel Newton)

Tyrella beach had 18+ Twite, and two Long-tailed Duck (Garry Armstrong)

21 Purple Sandpiper were at Newcastle Harbour (Wilton Farrelly)

A Black Redstart was in Botanic Gardens, Belfast. It was in the rose bushes to the left of the pergola as you go up to it (Dan Barry)

198 Pintail were at The Maltings, Newtownards (John Moore)

A drake King Eider was at Mermaids Cove, Mullaghmore, Co Sligo. A Velvet Scoter was also present. (Annette Elkin)
