Bird News Friday 3rd January

A 1st winter Kumlien's Gull and a 1st winter Glaucous Gull were at Corbally Reservoir in Portrush. (Neal Warnock).

The Black Redstart was showing well ear the bandstand in Portstewart. (Garry Wilkinson).

The redhead Smew was still at Portmore Lough RSPB. (Garry Armstrong).

A drake Velvet Scoter was off the small car park on the A2 as you leave Newcastle heading towards Bloody Bridge. A pair of Goosanders were on Lough Island Reavey. (Daniel Newton).

A single Canada Goose was with the Whooper Swan flock at Mountnorris in Co. Armagh. (Joe Devlin).

The Waxwing flock was still in the Barrack Street area of Belfast this morning. (Ian Enlander).

There was a Black-throated Diver at Carnlough and Red Kite just south of Armoy today. (Clive Mellon).

92 Whooper Swans were in Killough Harbour. Chris Murphy).

At Caledon, Co. Tyrone there were 42 Whooper Swans, 2 Pink-footed Geese and 110 Greylags. (Joe Shannon)
