Bird News Sunday 5th September

Lapland Bunting: 1, west side of Ramore Head (M Tickner)
Black-necked Grebes, 2, The Mullagh, Lough Beg, along with an excellent count of 18 Ruff, 2 Knot, 280 Black-tailed Godwit and 4 White Wagtails.
Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 at the Bann Estuary
Curlew Sandpiper - 3, Myroe, along with an adult Mediterranean Gull.
Curlew Sandpiper, 10 at the Bann Estuary.

Curlew Sandpiper, 3 Blanketnook, Co. Donegal
Mediterranean Gull, 4 Burnfoot (K Bennett)
Green Sandpiper, 1 at Bishops Mill in Strangford Lough
Curlew Sandpiper, 4, 1st W Mediterranean Gull, 11 Little egret, Ballycarry Bridge, Larne Lough.

On Tory Island today, a Booted \ Sykes Warbler at East Town proved extremely elusive. Video footage has been taken so hopefully its identification will become clearer. Surprisingly it had been ringed. Elsewhere on the Island were 15 Lapland Buntings, a Whinchat, a Reed Warbler and a number of Willow Warblers.
