Bird News for Friday 9th December.

Our kind thanks to Stephen Maxwell who sent in these images of a Bullfinch(top) and a Long-tailed Tit, notice how puffed out the two birds appear trying to keep warm in these very cold conditions, hard few months ahead for birds.

A visit to Farland Bank at Inch Co Donegal this morning produced 50 Canada Geese and 100 Fieldfare(see photo below) plus a few Redwings in the fields on approach, along with a couple of Bullfinches. Three RB mergansers were fishing on the seaward side, plus an otter playing around in the water close to the outlet into the sea!(R.Hill)
