Bird News Monday 2nd January

The New Year has started with the superb find of a Richards Pipit at Killard (see previous post and pics).

The Red-crested Pochard was present at Craigavon Lakes, along with the Great Northern Diver (Ed O'Hara).
A Raven was at Gosford Park, Co. Armagh (Alistair Prentice)
A Little Egret was at Moat Park, Dundonald and another at Castle Espie (Stephen Maxwell)
The adult Bonaparte's Gull was on the beach at Ballygalley (Jeff Larkin).
In Fermanagh a White-tailed Eagle, 20 Gadwall and 6 Pintail were at Upper Lough Erne (Peter Taylor).
On the Antrim side of Belfast Lough 2 Velvet Scoter, a Black-throated Diver, a Mediterranean Gull, 5 Red-throated Diver and a male Long-tailed Duck were off Whitehouse (Stuart McKee).
A Peregrine Falcon and 2 Little Grebe were at Groomsport (Richard Lort). The second winter Ring-billed Gull was still present.
20 Snow Bunting were at the landfill site at Hightown Road above Glengormley (Larry Toal).

The Drake Goosander still at Begney Lough and a Peregrine at Dundrum S Inner Bay (David Nixon)
At Dundrum Inner Bay south this morning were 2 Little Egret, 5 Greenshank, a Peregrine and a Grey Plover.(David McCreedy
