Bird News Saturday 9th November

A single House Martin was over a farm today at about 10.00 Head Road, Kilkeel (Mark Speers)

10 Pink-footed Geese and a Greenland White-front were at Myroe Levels. 800 GoldenPlover and small flock of Tree Sparrow & Yellowhammer also. (Neal Warnock)

Two Ruff and 11 Little Egret were east of Pattons Marsh, Newtownards (Wilton Farrelly)

A Little Egret was at Walter Rocks, Portaferry (Nicholas J A Sanders)

The Ring-billed Gull was still at East Strand Portrush today. (John Clarke)

The adult Ring-billed Gull was also at Carrickfergus harbour, Belfast Lough today at 1300 (Paul McCullough)

In south Down a Black-throated Diver was off Murlough and a Long-eared Owl flew across the road at Edenarriff (Garry Wilkinson)

A Swallow and a Jack Snipe were at Drumfad Bay and a first-winter Mediterranean Gull at Ballywalter. A Jack Snipe was at Portavogie, 2 Sandwich Tern at Cloghy Bay and a Chiffchaff at Ballyquintin Point (Richard Weyl)

An adult Mediterranean Gull was at Crawfordsburn beach (Stuart McKee)

Late news from yesterday was of 3 Jack Snipe on Lower Lough Erne, Co Fermanagh (Peter Taylor)

Also yesterday evening at 19:15 a Long-eared Owl flew across the road at Tyrella (Chris Murphy)
