Bird News Sunday 3rd November

The juvenile American Golden Plover was still at Kirkiston, Co Down. The Hybrid American Wigeon was also at the Quoile (Tom Ennis, Ray Bennett and Carol Gillespie)

The American Golden Plover was still at Kirkistown at 12.30. At Portavogie 2 jack snipe were with 30 snipe. A merlin was at Kearney. (Richard Weyl)

Rathlin Island had two Snow Bunting, two Brambling, a Merlin and a Blackcap (Philip West / Ian Graham)

Killard, Co Down had 1 Merlin and 2 Barnacle Geese (Craig Nash)

Yesterday Portmore Lough RSPB reserve had a Swallow, 12 Snipe, 20 Redwing and 8 Fieldfare (Nick Gibson)

44 Whooper Swans were near Derrytrasna - 33 ad, 11 juv (Matthew Scott)

4 Sandwich Tern were at Cloghy Bay and a Merlin and Sandwich Tern at Kearney (Stuart McKee)

Tyrella Beach: Co. Down had 3 Twite, 9+ Stonechats, 50+ Sanderling (Ed O'Hara)

Late news for Saturday morning, a Barn Owl was Between Legacurry and Waterloo Road at 5.18 am. (Garry Wilkinson)
