Bird News Friday 5th September

The juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was still at Belfast Lough RSPB reserve this afternoon, 4 Ruff and a Curlew Sandpiper were also present. (Birdguides).

A juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, 7 Ruff and 2 Snipe were at Belfast Harbour Lagoon. A Little Egret was at Whitehouse Lagoon (Derek Polley, Joe Lamont et al).

104 Brent Geese and a Peregrine were on the mudflats at the North end of Strangford Lough today. (David Nixon).

Approximately 150 Brent Geese flew east past the Giant’s Causeway. (Colin Guy).

A juvenile Peregrine and a White Wagtail were on Ardglass Golf Course this evening (Chris Murphy).
