Bird News Wednesday 18th April

An adult Glaucous Gull was at Whiteabbey (Irish Birding) 
4 Common Tern were at Portmore Lough RSPB reserve this morning (John Loughlin)
2 Canada Geese were at Collectors Bay at the Quoile Pondage (Francis Duffin)
The second-summer Ring-billed Gull was at Groomsport (George Gordon).
Yesterday a dark phase Arctic Skua flew west past Ballintoy Harbour (Derek McIntyre).

Summer migrants continue to arrive despite the northerly winds. A Grasshopper Warbler was just east of Claudy in Londonderry (Clive Mellon, Dave Allen). 5 House Martin were at Ballyronan on the Londonderry shore of Lough Neagh (Seamus Burns). A swallow was yesterday (17th) near Broughshane in the Braid Valley (Julian Leslie) and 8 at Lough Money (Paul Scott) Killard I had 2 Common tern 1 Wheatear 2 Red Throated and 1 Gt Northern Diver, 17 Sandwich Tern and 1 Whitethroat (Craig Nash)
