Bird News Friday 1st January

A Red-necked Grebe and a Slavonian Grebe are off Macedon Point, Belfast Lough (Stuart McKee)

The Black Redstart was seen again at Ballylumford and 14 Twite were at the boatyard in Whitehead. (Cameron Moore)

A high count of 41 Tree Sparrow were at Kilraughts Road, Ballymoney (Derek McIntyre)

A 1w Iceland Gull was in flooded fields, Mullalelish Road, Richhill, Co. Armagh (Clifford Sharpe)

The Long-tailed Duck was still present at Myroe. (Theo Campbell).

A female Common Scoter and a Slavonian Grebe were off Glynn in Larne Lough. (Garry Armstrong).

The Great White Egret was still at Portmore Lough RSPB. (Garry Armstrong).

A Peregrine was at White Park Bay. (Sean & Seamus O'Hara).

A redhead Smew was on Lough Beg this afternoon and two Great Northern Divers were also seen. A Spotted Redshank and two Merlins (including one male) were at Mullagh. (David Steele).
