Bird News Saturday 16th January

The first winter Iceland Gull was still at Belfast Waterworks, a Cormorant of the European sub-species sinensis was also present. (Stuart McKee)

6 Yellowhammer were at Loughinisland.  64 Whooper, 4 Mute, 20 Greylag, 2 Black-tailed Godwit and 4 Curlew were at Magheralagan. (Andrew Crory)

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was feeding on a bird feeder in Poleglass (Thomas Cullen).

A Red Kite was seen at Clough in south Down today. (Jools Crory).
