Bird News Saturday 19th March

Two Slavonian Grebes and two Long-tailed Ducks were off Macedon Point in Belfast Lough. (Garry Armstrong).

Five Long-tailed Ducks and three Slavonian Grebes were off Myroe. (Richard Donaghey).

The Cattle Egret is still at the Creagh, Lough Beg.  (Richard Hunter).

The two Ruff and two Mediterranean Gulls were at Belfast Lough RSPB WOW reserve. (Garry Armstrong).

Wheatear are arriving in good numbers including a female at Mullaghboy, Co. Antrim. (Kevin Kirkham).

A pair of Garganey are at Lough Shark in Co. Armagh.(Joe Devlin).

A 1st winter Glaucous Gull was at Ardglass harbour this afternoon. (Chris Murphy).

Two adult Mediterranean Gulls and a Pink-foot were at Glynn in Larne Lough. (Joe Lamont).

A male Hen Harrier and a Brambling along with the first Chiffchaff and Wheatears of the year were on Rathlin. (Ric Else & Hazel Watson).

The female Brambling is still visiting a garden in Larne. (Linda Thompson).
