Bird News Thursday 28th September

Dark-bellied Brent Goose at Ballykelly and a juvenile Black Tern is at Magilligan Point. (Ivan Quail & Nicky Lynn).

A Grey Phalarope was at Belfast Lough RSPB WoW reserve 1130-1240 seen from the main building directly opposite on far side of reserve in bay and along spit and island shoreline then flushed by Hooded Crow and no further sightings by 1340. Also present were 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Ruff, 6 Little Egrets, 1 Common and 8 Sandwich Terns. (Derek Polley/John Fraser/Bob Watts/Aaron Long et al). No further sign by dusk (Daniel Newton).

Curlew Sandpiper at Ballymacormick Point this afternoon (Anthony McGeehan & John McLean).

No sign of the Grey Phalarope at Kilclief but Wheatear and 3 Sandwich Terns present (Richard Caves).

4 Curlew Sandpipers and 2 Wheatear at Myroe (John Spratt).
