Bird News Thursday 7th September

 A juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was at Belfast Lough RSPB WoW reserve this morning. (Daniel Newton). This afternoon 3 Curlew Sandpipers and a Common Sandpiper were present. (Derek Polley, John Fraser).

An early Fieldfare was at Ballywildrick outside Coleraine this morning. (John Spottiswood).

Paddy's Dub at Lough Beg yesterday evening had 2 Green Sandpipers and 50+ Snipe. (Godfrey McRoberts). 

A Pectoral Sandpiper was in flooded fields along the Canalbank Road, Poyntzpass, Co. Armagh. (Joe Devlin). An American Golden Plover, the first modern record for Armagh, was present along with the Pectoral Sandpiper this afternoon. (Frank Carroll, Joe Devlin).

A Great White Egret (the first of the autumn) was at Lough Beg this afternoon. Two Garganey and 15 Ruff were also seen. (David Steele)
