Bird News Thursday 13th March.

N'ards to Ballyquinton Point had ,10 Black-throated Divers, 3 Great Northern Divers, 40+ Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Buzzards, 5 Sandwich Terns at Portaferry and well over 1000 Linnets on electric overhead cables and 20 Tree Sparrows at Ballyquinton Point.(R Hart, M Richardson, J Whitla & F Somerville.)

The Bann estuary had.. 450 Golden Plovers and 37 Black-tailed Godwits. Myroe: 345 Greylag Geese, 2 Pink-footed Geese, 27 White-fronted Geese, 240 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 330 Whooper Swans and a Little Egret. Ballykelly: 4 Little Egrets.
