Earlier this year Martin Garner gave a fascinating talk, Birding Frontiers, in which he opened many local birders eyes to both common and rare birds. One of the most basic examples was how he highlighted the humble Robin and in particular the identification of migrant birds from the continent. The key features that Martin highlighted were the olive upperparts (not brown) and orange breast (not red). Martin is revisiting us next spring for another talk so prepare to learn more!
