Bird News for 1st March.

At Strangford Lough the GWF Goose, Barnacle Goose and 400 Greylag were at Anne's Point. 19 Slavonian Grebe and 6 RT Diver (5 of them in a flock) were at Greyabbey Bay South. 8 BT Diver (all in one flock) were on the south side of Kircubbin Bay (Stuart McKee).

A Carrion Crow and 2 Carrion x Hooded hybrids were on the shore at Holywood (Stuart McKee).

Two Greater Spotted Woodpeckers were in Tollymore today, about half a mile down river from the car park. (Ron Price)

Portmuck, Islandmagee 500++ guillemot feeding north of Isle of Muck with 15 Harbour Porpoise present. Another 300+ guillemot flew north with 20 approx Red-throated Diver (2 in near full summer plumage) in the area(I.Enlander)

A Sparrowhawk was hunting at Adelaide Park on the Lisburn Road in Belfast.(R.McQuillan)
