Bird News Friday 5th August

Hobby - Jeff Larkin
The Hobby was still present this afternoon at Montiaghs Moss - Directions in previous posts. - (Jeff Larkin \ George Gordon) This Hobby has proved very popular, it's not often we get such prolonged looks at one, especially in this country, most of our records are from single observers. Hopefully it will stay over the weekend allowing a lot of people the chance to add it to their Northern Irish list. As you can see from the photograph's it is a very striking looking bird.

A wing tagged Red Kite was seen at Ballygally this morning (Neal Warnock)

2 adult Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Whimbrel, a female Sparrowhawk and a Little Egret were at Bann Estuary. Another Little Egret was at Ballykelly and a Buzzard at the Roe Estuary (Theo Campbell).
