Bird News Thursday 13th October

The adult Bonaparte's Gull was at Whitehead before flying off towards Carrickfergus. 18 Red-throated Diver were also seen and an adult Mediterranean Gull, 3 Little Egret and 2 Greenshank were at Glynn in Larne Lough (Cameron Moore).
From Corbetts Dunes, Dundrum, Co. Down, a Velvet Scoter was in the Common Scoter flock (circa 1400 birds). A 2nd Winter Med Gull was seen opposite the Minnerstown Tavern (Chris Murphy)

At Strangford Lough 1,500 Golden Plover and a juvenile Wheatear were at the Floodgates (Dot Blakely).
