Bird News Friday 15th August

79 Whimbrel, 6 Ruff, 2 Knot and 22 Greenshank were at Blanketnook in Donegal. (Chris Ingram)

The 3 juvenile Ruff were still at Belfast Harbour Lagoon and the second-winter Little Gull was back at Kinnegar Pool (Joe Lamont).

 A Swift was over the town hall in Carrickfergus (Gerard McGeehan).

A pair of Sparrowhawks fledged young in the Stormont Estate. Flying young were seen this week. (Jim Wells).

3 Little Egrets were on Larne Lough near Ballycarry railway station this afternoon. (Bill McCullough).

Tonight at Glenoo Mountain near Fivemiletown Co Tyrone there was 1 Kestrel, 1 Dipper, 2 Jay,1 Buzzard, and a group of 20+ Mistle Thrush. (Colin Bell).
