Bird News Wednesday 18th March

A Merlin was on the Belfast Hills, early today ( Larry Toal)

An Adult Iceland Gull flew past Rue Point, Rathlin . A Merlin and 2 Choughs were also seen (Colin Guy)

3 Twite were still at Rockport, N Down, one of which was in full song. Also, one Carrion Crow with about 15 hoodies. (Dermot Hughes)

The Kumliens Gull was still at Lurgan Park Lake (Neil Cartmill)

2 adult Mediterranean Gull, a first-winter Iceland Gull, 3 Red-breasted Merganser and 6 Gadwall were at Belfast Harbour Lagoon (Gerard McGeehan)

A Great Northern Diver was at Holme Bay in Strangford Lough (Spencer and Joan Marshall).
