Bird News Wednesday 28th December

The flock of 40+ Waxwing were still present Birch Green, Newtownabbey. These birds can be absent from the street for long periods. (Richard Hunter)

A first winter Iceland Gull was at Whitehouse Lagoon (Stuart McKee)

The female Goosander is still at Six Mile Water Park, Ballyclare but now in the Duck Pond. Still there at 1300 hrs. At RSPB Portmore Lough this afternoon the female/first winter Smew was still present. (Tom Ennis/Tony Dodds)
