Bird News Saturday 2nd April

The Black-necked Grebe was present again at Todd's Corner, Ardmore on the south shore of Lough Neagh. (Garry Armstrong).

One of the Garganey is still on the pools below the viewing platform at Portmore Lough RSPB. (Garry Armstrong). This afternoon 3 Garganey, 2 males and a female, were present on the pools below the platform. (David McCreedy).

A Black-throated Diver was off Whitehead coastal path near Blackhead Lighthouse.  (Bob Watts).

A Golden Eagle was on Rathlin, it was flying along the cliffs at Kebble before circling up and being lost to view. (Ric Else & Hazel Watson).

A 1st winter Iceland Gull and two Mediterranean Gulls, an adult and a 2nd winter, were at Ballymena Ecos Park. (Jeff Larkin).

The Glossy Ibis returned to the pools below the viewing platform at Portmore Lough RSPB this afternoon. (Michael Latham).

A possible Mealy or Greenland Redpoll was seen in a garden in Richill this morning. (Andrew Poots).

The Great White Egret was between the two lakes at Clea Lakes near Shrigley. (Derek Polley).

The Cattle Egret, now coming into breeding plumage, is still at the south end of Lough Beg, close to the farm at Mullagh. (Richard Gray).

The Spotted Redshank, now moulting into summer plumage, is still at Dundrum inner bay south. (David Nixon).

7 Twite were in the carpark beside the lagoon in Millisle this afternoon. (Jonny Andrews).

2 Manx Shearwaters were off Burial Island on the outer Ards and a Jack Snipe was at Portavogie. (Richard Weyl).
