Bird News Friday 2nd June

First summer (2cy) White-rumped Sandpiper in front of the hide at the Bann Estuary 1300-1435 at least, also a summer plumaged Little Stint (John Spottiswood).

Late news of a female Marsh Harrier yesterday evening inland from the south shore of Lough Neagh (John Lambe).

3 Minke Whales from Portstewart Head from 0900-1100 at least (Stephen & Donna Riddell). One seen yesterday near the Strangford Peninsula (per David Sterling).

Great White Egret reported at Lough Beg (Andrew Melnick via eBird).

A Wood Sandpiper briefly at 1pm adjacent to the car park at Corbett Lough then flew towards the western shore and no further sign (Joe Furphy).
