Bird News Sunday 10th November 2024

A Merlin and a Ruff were at the Bann Estuary. (Dean Jones).

The flock of Twite are still at Ramore Head in Portrush. (Chris Hamilton).

A Short-eared Owl was at Ballyquintin. (Richard Weyl).

The Red-necked Grebe was distantly off Macedon Point in Belfast Lough, at least 25 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver, 12 Scaup and a single Common Scoter were also present. (Philip West, Wilton Farrelly, Garry Armstrong).

A Brambling flew over Kinnegar shore. (Stuart Cossey).

A ring-tail Hen Harrier was at Portmore. (Michael Latham, Alan Dickson).

3 Common Scoters were in Dargan Bay in Belfast Lough. (Ivan Quail, Nicky Lynn).

The 2 Black-throated Divers were still at Carnlough this morning. (Stephen Foster). Also present were a Red-throated Diver, Great Northern Diver and 3 Common Scoter. (Ivan Quail, Nicky Lynn).

3 Ring-necked Ducks, a Cattle Egret and 5 Great White Egrets were at Lough Beg. (David Steele).

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen at Oxford Island. (Marian O'Hara).

2 Mediterranean Gulls and 3 Purple Sandpipers were on Rathlin. (Ric Else, Hazel Watson).
