The
Great Grey Shrike was again seen this morning in very difficult conditions. It was about 500m north west (left) from the junction at the old farmhouse buildings at Slievenacloy, (from the Flowbog Road). Originally very brief views were had but later it showed on hawthorn bushes. It was also visible from the Flowbog Road.
About 25 birders seen it (most from RoI), making this the largest twitch in NI in a very long time!
The bird was seen up until 19.45 at the farmhouse buildings when it disappeared, but light was fading fast at this point so hopefully it was going to roost.
