Bird News for Thurs.19th May

The Purple Heron was back at Boomer's Reservoir in Lisburn this morning at around 10.00am(W.Veale) There is no access to the reservoir so you have to view from the outside, the bird did fly off but only a short distance but dropped out of sight. It was not seen again and probably went into thick cover. Hopefully for the rest of us it will develop a habit over the next few days and we have a chance to see Northern Ireland's first Purple Heron, fingers crossed.
