Bird News Saturday 12th October

An adult Little Gull was in Belfast harbour this morning. (Stephen Dunstan)

The Red-backed Shrike seen again this morning at Cooley Point, Co Louth (Gerry O'Neill)

7 Little Egret were at the Floodgates, Newtownards (Lindsay Hodges)

A Hen Harrier was at Portmore Lough (Alistair Prentice)

Belfast Lough had a Sandwich Tern and c1100 Eider (Stephen Dunstan)

A male Ring-necked Duck was at Durnesh lake, south Donegal (near Rossnowlagh). Also there 1 female Scaup, a Pink footed Goose and 285 Whooper Swan. An ad winter male Long tailed Duck was offshore (Brad Robson)

Outer Ards today had a Merlin at Kearney and 1 Barnacle Goose at Barr Hall Bay. (Keith Bennett)
