Bird News Sunday 3rd March

A Firecrest was at Kinramer, Rathlin this morning. The bird was relocated close by this afternoon. (Ric Else and Hazel Watson)

5 Crossbills were at the edge of the forest at Shillanavogy Road, Co Antrim this morning. A Red Grouse was close by (Ron Price)

The Spoonbill was seen in flight past Island Hill from Castle Espie (Geoff Larkin).

At Portmore Lough the red head Smew was still present and 3 Pink-feet were with  200 Greylags, see pictures below. (Ed O'Hara).

14 Twite were at the carpark by the boatyard in Whitehead. (Wilton Farrelly)

Moville, Co Donegal had the adult Kumliens Gull and 4 Red-throated Divers (Gerard McGeehan, Shirley Dunlop, Carol Gillespie and Tom Ennis)

2 summer plumaged adult Mediterranean Gulls were at Glynn in Larne Lough and 2 Red-throated Diver were close inshore at Carnlough. (Garry Armstrong)

A Pink-foot was at Anne's Point and up to 12 Sandwich Tern at Portaferry. (Daniel Newton).

Two Brambling have been feeding in a garden in Glenwherry since early February. (Gregory Moorehead)
