Bird News Thursday 4th August

The moulting adult Little Gull was still present at Belfast Lough RSPB WoW reserve this morning, also 2 Common Sandpipers (Derek Polley).

An Osprey seen this afternoon flying over Crumlin Bay, Lough Neagh, in the direction of Antrim (Paul Toner).

The juvenile Little Ringed Plover remains at Portmore Lough RSPB as well as a Common Ringed Plover and a Greenshank. A Ruff and a Common Sandpiper were at Lady Bay, there was no sign of the Little Gulls. (Michael Latham).

This afternoon from 3.30pm Belfast Lough RSPB WoW still had the Little Gull along with 26 Bar-tailed Godwits many being males still in full breeding plumage. (Tom Ennis).

Two Little Terns were in front of the hide at the Barmouth, 205 Sandwich Terns and a leucistic Sanderling were also present. (John Spottiswood).
