Bird News Monday 1st August

The Osprey was seen again at the Quoile Pondage around 17.00(Irishbirding)

Yesterday at least 6 Whooper Swans were on Lough Beg, including a family of 2 adults and 1 young. Also 6 Common Sandpipers, a Sparrowhawk and a Kingfisher (Robert McDowell)

Could the good run of rarities could continue? Perhaps this could be the year for a Two-barred Crossbill? A record influx is happening in Scandanavia at present and one bird has already reached Spurn!
