Bird News Tuesday 11th December

The Little Gull is still present on the Balancing Lakes in Craigavon, the bird has moved to the south lake and is feeding just to the right of the main car park serving the Adventure Centre, see pictures below. (Noel Austin).

5 Waxwing were at main street Kesh, Co Fermanagh about 200m south of police station in gardens, see pictures below. (Brad Robson).

20 Waxwings were near Grove Roundabout, Ballymoney Road, Ballymena, this morning (Iris Miller).

Waxwings are at Tescos in Antrim (Adam McClure).

30 Waxwing were at the University of Ulster, Magee Campus carpark, Northland Road, Derry, see picture below. (Emzi Frater).

There were still 100+ Waxwings at Lagan Valley Hospital, Lisburn. (Frank Carroll/Richard Donaghey).

 250 Mallard were stranded on ice at Loughbrickland Lake, 40 Golden Plover also present there. (Frank Carroll).

A small flock of Waxwings were at the Crescent Link opposite McDonalds in Derry. (Christine Cassidy).

A Barn Owl has been seen for the last two nights in Warren Crescent in Portstewart. (Brian Daly).

A Mealy Redpoll was at Turmennan Road near Crossgar. (Ron Price).

2 Waxwing were in a garden in Portstewart (Pat Davison).      

A male Blackcap was in a garden at the Waterside in Coleraine. The BTO winter thrush survey produced a flock of 35 Redwing in flight and 4 in a garden (Lowell Mills).      

21 Waxwing were at Edenberry in Banbridge on 7th and 2/3 have been present there every day since.
