Bird News Monday 11th April

A flock of approximately 30 Twite are feeding in a manure sprayed field on the path from Ballintoy Church to Carrick-a- Rede. 3 White Fronted Geese flew over White Rocks, Portrush. (Colin Guy).

Yesterday Blacker’s Rock on the western shore of Lough Neagh in Co. Tyrone on Sunday had the following - 15 White Wagtail, 7 Sand Martin, 3 Swallow with singing Willow Warblers and Chiffchaff, 70 Golden Plover were present with 2 Greylag Geese and 8 Whooper Swan. Also 5 pairs of Gadwall and 1 pair of Shelduck. (Godfrey McRoberts).

Yesterday evening 2 House Martins were over Castleview in Killyleagh. (Spencer & Joan Marshall).

3 White-fronted Geese, over 5,000 Golden Plover, up to 18 Whooper Swans, 4 or 5 White Wagtails and 8 House Martins were in fields at Donnybrewer and Longfield Point, Lough Foyle. (Gareth Bareham).
