Bird News Thursday 1st April

A Ring-necked Parakeet was seen at Hazelbank, Belfast Lough (Kenneth Brewster)

A Short-eared Owl was on lower Lough Erne RSPB reserve Fermanagh (Amy Burns and Ken Moore).

4 Twite and a White Wagtail were at Ballymacormick Point. (James Andrew).

The Black Redstart was below the cliffs on south side of Killard Point, Co Down, also a White Wagtail; in Ardglass Harbour the 1w Glaucous Gull was present (Chris Murphy)


At least 8 Wheatear were at the Giants Causeway (Bob Watts)


A first winter and adult Mediterranean Gull were of the Larne Highway. There was no sign of the Black Redstart (Cameron Moore)


Willow Warblers, Sandwich Terns and Swallows are now widely reported. Thanks to everyone who has sent in sightings.
