Bird News Monday 13th December

The fem/imm Smew was on the Quoile River, Co. Down just below the Killyleagh Road bridge. (Ron Price)
An impressive count of 2500 Knot were at the Gasworks, Mount Stewart, Co Down (Ian Enlander)
A male Brambling was in a garden in Spa (David Nixon) and a Brambling was in a garden in Gilbourne in Gilnahirk in Belfast (Ron Price).

The 1W Mediterranean Gull (with a yellow ring) was seen again at Ballycarry Bridge in Larne Lough (Cameron Moore).

In Fermanagh 3 Red Grouse were on the Pettigo Plateau and 2 Woodcock at Springfield (Brad Robson).

Yesterday 220 Whooper Swans were in the fields near the car park at Islandhill at the north end of Strangford Lough (Dot Blakely).
