One of Irelands most beautiful mammals is the Irish Hare. In Northern Ireland they are under considerable pressure and numbers have fallen sharply. This is due largely to changes in agricultural practice and, even though Irish Hares have been voluntarily removed from the shooting list, illegal hunting and coursing still takes place.
