The male Ring Necked Duck was showing well at Inch Lake, Donegal yesterday morning. As usual it appears to be paired with a female Pochard, never straying far from her side. The Pochard is either in active wing moult or has damage to her wings as she cannot fly. When feeding the Ring Necked Duck was diving in the vicinity of two feeding Mute Swans and was obviously trying to catch anything that was being disturbed by the Swans.
