Bird News Saturday 10th September

An Arctic Skua and a Red-throated Diver were off Grey Point in Belfast Lough, a Curlew Sandpiper was at Ballymacormick Point. (Richard Hunter).

Myroe had 5 Curlew Sandpipers, 2 Little Stints, 2 Knot, a Peregrine and 2 Wheatear. (Stuart McKee, Garry Armstrong).

The Black Tern was still at Kinnegoe Bay, Oxford Island. (Ed O'Hara).

A Pectoral Sandpiper and 3 Ruff were in the stubble field opposite Ballykelly Marsh. Ballykelly Marsh had 5 Goosanders, a Ruff and 31 Mediterranean Gulls. (Stuart McKee, Garry Armstrong).

13 Curlew Sandpipers, a Ruff and Mediterranean Gull were at the Barmouth. (Dean Jones).

The Glaucous Gull was on the roof of the Burger King in Coleraine. (Stuart McKee, Garry Armstrong).

A Greenish Warbler, Whinchat, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler and 8 Wheatear were on Tory Island, a Grey Phalarope was seen on the sea and an Iceland Gull was at Magheroarty. A male Velvet Scoter was off Fanad. (Wilton Farrelly, Theo Campbell, Derek Brennan).

A Kestrel, 4 Wheatear and 11 Ravens were on Divis above Belfast. (Paula Campbell).

A juvenile Hen Harrier was at Portmore. (Michael Latham).

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was at St John's Point, a first site record. Three Curlew Sandpipers were at Killough harbour. (Chris Murphy).
