Bird News for Tuesday 4th October.


At Dundrum Inner Bay South this morning were 6 Little Egret & 28 Redwing. A further 98 Redwing, a Wheatear, Merlin, Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrel & a Peregrine were at St. John's Point.(A.McClure)

Copeland Bird Observatory had 2 male Blackcap, a Chiffchaff, 20 Lesser Redpoll, 200 Goldfinch, 7 Hooded Crow, 2 Carrion Crow, a hybrid Hooded x Carrion, 8 Jackdaw that appeared to come from the direction of Scotland and 250 Kittiwake going south about half of them juvenile. Yesterday 2 female Blackcap, 400 Goldfinch, 50 Lesser Redpoll, 30 Linnet, 10 newly arrived Robin, 70 Swallow and 5 House Martin were seen (Neville McKee).

Last night a Barn Owl was in a garden at Aghnaleck near Hillsborough (Garry Wilkinson).
