Bird News Sunday 9th October

A Garden Warbler and 7 Twite were on Rathlin. A Pomarine Skua and a Bonxie were seen from the Ferry (Neal Warnock)
A Dark-bellied Brent was at the Maltings, Strangdford Lough (Paul Scott)
A 2 hour seawatch at Copeland Bird Observatory produced 10 Whooper Swan, a Balearic Shearwater, 4 Manx Shearwater and an Arctic Skua (David Galbraith).
Magilligan Point had 18 Whooper Swan, 120 Sanderling, 65 Dunlin, 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 45 Bar-tailed Godwit, a Grey Plover and Red-throated Diver (C Stewart).
2 Dipper were at Crumlin Glen (Vernon Carter).
2 Wheatear were at Luke's Point near Ballyholme Yacht Club (George Henderson).
An adult Mediterranean Gull was at Myroe Levels (Stuart McKee).
The Pink-footed Goose was still at Kearney as well as 200 Skylark and a Peregrine Falcon. 2 Wheatear, a Merlin and 200 Golden Plover were at Kirkiston (Richard Weyl).
