A reminder that a close approach to nesting birds is to be disencouraged at all times especially during the breeding season which is now upon us.
The tape-luring of birds is especially abhorrent behaviour. This has been highlighted to be occurring frequently in the past few weeks, particularly at Oxford Island NNR. In particular it has been noted that Great Spotted Woodpeckers have been tape-lured. Please report incidents to the visitor centre.
We would remind everyone that tape luring any breeding bird is wilful disturbance.
