Bird News Wednesday 10th September

A Great White Egret was in the bay on the right hand side before the cattle grid on the way down to the Quoile Pondage (Leonard Charles).

Belfast Reserve and Kinnegar Lagoon had the Pectoral Sandpiper, 3 Ruff, 2 Snipe, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew Sandpiper, and a number of Dunlin. Dundrum Inner bay at high tide had 2 Curlew Sandpiper, 18 Greenshank, 7 Little Egret, 3 Carrion Crow, 2 Raven, 2 Kingfisher, 1 Ruff, a Wheatear and a Whimbrel. The "resident " adult Ring-billed Gull has returned to the East Strand Car Park, Portrush. Also at Portrush there were 3 Purple Sandpipers on the Lansdowne shore. Larrybane had a flock of 20 Twite. (Hill Dick / Peter Robinson).
