Bird News Monday 1st November

The Little Gull and one first year Common Tern were at Kinnegar Shore this morning (Bob Watts)

A Black Brant is near Cross Island on the west side of Strangford Lough. It is on the way down to Nendrum Castle and Mahee Island near J5364 on an OS map. A second Black Brant was at the Ballyreagh/Maltings layby outside Newtownards. (Graham McElwaine)

Two Yellowhammers were at Ballyhenry Road, Comber. (David Clarke).

A sea-watch at Ramore this morning had 1 Skua species, 1 Puffin, 11 Great Northern Divers, 9 Red-throated Divers, 10 Whooper Swans, 2 Barnacle Geese, 250 Kittiwake, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Kestrel, 25 Golden Plover and 120 Gannet. The Snow Bunting was still on the bowling green. (Stuart McKee, Dennis Weir).
